Pages from new book, Hamptons Artists by Jaime Lopez

Shown here are two pages I received in this gorgeous book, Hamptons Artist, The Current Wave, 48 artists making their mark on the East End. by Jaime Lopez Text by Coco Myers with a foreword by Allison Berg. Coco Myers is the Director of FolioEast an online gallery which represents Jaime Lopez and all of the artists in the book. https://www.folioeast.com/

I love my gritty unfinished, basement studio compared to all of the other finished spaces featured in the book. What it lacks in polish it makes up for in size, it’s a huge space. With that said I made my largest painting before inhabiting my current space so the notion of large space, large work isn’t necessarily true. My first large painting measuring 86”x86” was painted in my NYC studio apartment. I stapled the canvas to the wall and did it. Because of sales ratio to painting inventory speaking for myself of course. I don’t sell everything at first so storage is not fun so… I’m making grid paintings today that can be put together to make a large work or smaller works. Storage is less complicated and showing is easier…wide eyed emoji.
