Flat File, in regards to artwork usually refers to storage of small works of art. This post shows works on paper, an ever growing body of work. Most artists have this work in their practice whether bound in a book or individual sheets of paper.
Shown here are three paintings from 2021, they are acrylic on paper and 24”x18”, inspired by pattern. In the nineties I worked for six years in the Garment District in NYC, when designs were still hand painted. I left soon after computer aided work took off. I remember those days quite fondly and learned valuable technique from the other painters. These paintings recall pattern not the perfect repetition of commercial pattern but a less formal composition or layout.
